Enrique Mendoza suggests I send you this announcement:

Roberto Pancrazi and Marija Vukotic, on behalf of the University of Warwick Economics Department, are organizing a two-day conference on Financial Markets and the Real Economy on 4-5 May, 2013 at Palazzo Papafava in Venice. The aims of the conference are to contribute to the academic discussion on this important topic and to bring together high quality research on international macroeconomics and international finance. Confirmed participants include Enrique Mendoza (Penn) and Christian Hellwig (Toulouse School of Economics). Original papers subject to high academic standards are invited on the following topics, though not restricted to them:
* International contagion and cross-country transmission of financial crises
* Interconnections between the real economy and financial markets, the role of frictions and market imperfections
* Role of policy and the international community
