Dear IFM member:

This year's Darden Int'l Finance conference will be on all things related to int'l capital flows. We also have RFS co-sponsorship; there is no promise of a special issue, but all papers accepted to the conference will be processed through RFS's dual submission procedure (details in the below call).

Please consider submitting; deadline is Nov 1.

Best, Frank

We will entertain a wide range of topics for this conference, but will seek clusters of work that complement one another. Possible sessions could include, but are not limited to, the following:
¨ International capital flows
¨ International portfolio allocation
¨ International portfolio diversification
¨ Global flight to quality
¨ Liquidity and capital flows
¨ Investing in emerging economies
¨ Capital market integration
¨ FDI
¨ Sovereign debt and its impact on investment
Submission and selection process:
The submission deadline is November 1, 2010. The conference will consider only completed papers. The conference website, http://conference.darden.virginia.edu/ifc/, will be set up to accept electronic paper submissions, through the "Online Paper Submission" link. Please fill the submission form online, paste the abstract of your paper in the appropriate text box, and upload your paper in PDF format. The program committee will review these materials and assemble sessions addressing similar substantive issues.

Conference Dual Submission Option
Submissions to the conference can also be submitted to the RFS under its dual review system. The submission deadline is November 1, 2010. Indicate on the conference website if you wish to have your paper considered under the dual review system with the RFS.
You must indicate on the conference submission website whether you are interested in consideration by the RFS under the dual review program. There is no charge for submissions under this program.
Dual submissions will be reviewed by the conference program committee and will be made available for consideration by the RFS.
Papers submitted for dual consideration must not be under review at another journal or the RFS, nor can they be considered for dual submission if previously rejected by the RFS.
At the discretion of the RFS, dual submissions will be sent out for a formal referee report. If such a report is sought, then the paper's author will receive a copy of the RFS reviewer's report.
Papers rejected at any stage of the dual review process are not considered to have been "rejected" at the RFS. This also applies to articles sent out for formal review. Thus authors are permitted to submit a future version of their paper (unchanged if they wish) to the RFS without prejudice.
While under consideration by the conference and the RFS, a paper may not be submitted to another journal (or the RFS) until the author has been notified.

Deadlines: Relevant dates for the submission process are as follows:
¨ Now through November 1, 2010: Submission of papers
¨ January 1, 2011: Notification by program committee of accepted papers
Prior to the conference the full text of all accepted abstracts and papers will be available on the web http://conference.darden.virginia.edu/ifc/.

Expenses: The conference will pay for reasonable (economy) travel expenses and will provide accommodations for paper presenters and discussants. For more details on travel reimbursement contact the administrative liaison identified below.

Location: The event will be held at the Darden School of Business, 100 Darden Boulevard, Charlottesville, Virginia. The conference is open to invited guests only.
