RE: Call for Papers, The NBER China Conference, September
30, 2005

The next National Bureau of Economic Research conference on the
Chinese Economy will be held in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on Friday,
September 30, 2005.

The conference provides a forum to discuss new China-related
research, broadly defined, and the exchange of views between US-based
China specialists and NBER members who have an interest in China but may
not otherwise be China specialists. The conference does not publish
proceedings or issue NBER working papers - most of the papers are
presumed to be published later in journals.

Participants in the past meetings included NBER members from
various programs, such as International Trade and Investment,
International Finance and Macroeconomics, Public Economics and Asset
Pricing. Non-NBER researchers were also represented. Papers presented at
the last year's conference can be found at
http://www.nber.org/~confer/2004/cwgf04/cwgf04prg.html.

If you are interested in presenting a paper this year, please
email a PDF version to me at swei@nber.org. The deadline for submission
is May 31, 2005. Only authors of accepted papers will be contacted. The
travel and hotel costs will be covered by the NBER.
