RE: Upcoming meetings

We have set the dates for two more country meetings in the NBER Project on
Exchange Rate Crises in Emerging Market Countries, they are as follows:

                 Indonesia: Friday, September 15, 2000

                 Russia: Saturday, September 16, 2000

The meeting on Indonesia will be organized by Steve Radelet and Simon
Johnson and the meeting on Russia by Simon Johnson. As you know, we have
already had meetings on Mexico, Thailand and Korea.

Jeffrey Frankel is directing the project under the overall guidance of
Martin Feldstein, who is an active participant. Paul Krugman and Jeff Sachs
have advisory roles.

Further logistical information will be circulated by the Conference
Department as the meetings draw closer.
