To: Members of NBER Programs on Aging, Health Care, Health Economics,
and Labor Studies,

Here is a new funding opportunity from NIH that seems well-suited to
NBER researchers.

The Role of Work in Health Disparities in the U.S. (R01 Clinical Trials
Optional)
https://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-21-275.html
(PAR-21-275)
"The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to
support innovative population-based research that can contribute to
identifying and characterizing pathways and mechanisms through which
work or occupation influences health outcomes and health status among
populations with health and/or health care disparities, and how work
functions as a social determinant of health."

As you may know, grants from NIH often support substantial research
efforts for as many as five years, so they allow you to request funds
for a large-scale project. The Proposals for this opportunity must have
a connection to health outcomes, as well as an important labor market
component. Proposals are accepted for NIH standard due dates: October
5, February 5 and June 5.

If you are interested in proposing a project for this announcement, or
if you would like to learn about NIH proposals more generally, the NBER
grant administration team will be delighted to answer questions and to
assist you in proposal preparation.

We look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,
Janet
