Subject: Inquiry from RTI International - Public Health Economics Program Director

Hello, Dr. Grossman.

I understand that you are an expert in your field of economics so I wonder if you might be able to help me. RTI International's Public Health and Environment Division is looking for an experienced Program Director to lead the Public Health Economics Program currently consisting of 17 PhD, Masters and BA level economists performing economic and policy research in public health. Current primary areas of focus within the program include public health policy, disease prevention, health care reform, obesity, diabetes, viral hepatitis, vaccination policy, other chronic and infectious diseases and behavioral economics. As the Program Director, he/she is expected to possess an extensive record of research within one or more of these topics. The Director will provide scientific leadership and management within the program and be responsible for the mentoring and development of program staff. He/She will lead the group in the development of successful proposal activity and directing grant or contract research projects. Candidates should have a PhD and at least 10 years experience in health economics research, including a strong publication record and a demonstrated history of personal responsibility winning and directing grant or contract research projects. RTI provides extensive support to assist in all aspects of the research process. The position can be based out of Research Triangle Park, NC, or Atlanta, GA. The full job descriptions can be accessed via the link below. Do you know anybody who might be qualified and interested in the position?
