Subject: Purchase of Airplane Ticket from American Express Travel

In the invitation that you received to attend the NBER Health Economics Program Meeting on May 8, Lita Kimble (NBER Conference Department), Ted Joyce, and I indicated that for your convenience, we have established a master account with American Express Travel in Cambridge, 1-800-964-7409. Members of the NBER Health Economics Program can avoid laying out their own funds for an airline ticket and then getting reimbursed after the meeting by obtaining their tickets from American Express Travel in Cambridge. When you phone, indicate that you are attending the NBER Health Economics Program Meeting on May 8 and are on the master account. Tickets acquired by persons on that account will e billed directly to the Bureau. This also applies to authors of papers who are not members of the NBER Health Economics Program unless there are three or more authors of a given paper in that category. In that case, the Bureau will only pay for two authors.

Health Economics Program members should note that the above policy does not apply to the Summer Institute. The Bureau's policy is to pay $100 a day towards your air fare for each day that you attend the Summer Institute. You can obtain an airline ticket from American Express Travel in Cambridge, but you have to charge it to a personal credit card.
