SUBJECT: Reminder: Call for Nominations
*THE EUGENE GARFIELD ECONOMIC IMPACT OF MEDICAL AND HEALTH RESEARCH AWARD*

Research!America invites you to make a nomination for the sixth annual
Eugene Garfield Award. Generously supported by the Eugene Garfield
Foundation, this award is given for outstanding research on how
medical/health research impacts the economy, carries a $5000 honorarium and
will be presented at a special reception in conjunction with the October 9,
2007 Board of Director's meeting in Washington, DC.

The Award Committee will consider nominations received by the close of
business *August 15, 2007*.

Nominations should include:

1) a copy of the publication or thesis.

2) A 200-word statement summarizing the reasons the work should be
recognized—particularly describing how the work illustrates the economic
benefits of medical and health research.

3) To be considered, the work must have been published or accepted for
publication between January 1, 2002 and December 31, 2006.

4) To encourage growth of the field, the Garfield Award committee
urges nomination of individuals early in their career.

5) Self-nominations are welcome.

6) Please submit nomination materials to
