The NBER will host a half-day workshop on using Medicare claims data on the
afternoon of September 21, 2006, at the NBER office in Cambridge, MA. The
goal of this workshop is to help investigators to understand and use the
full set of Medicare claims files. The session will take advantage of a
"training database" developed at Dartmouth College under the direction of
NBER affiliate Jonathan Skinner. It should be particularly useful to
graduate students and researchers in the health and aging fields who have
never used CMS data. Attached is a more detailed workshop description and
instructions for registration. Please bring the announcement to the
attention of your graduate students who are potential users of Medicare
claims data in their future research.
