Dear Research Colleagues -

I am writing with regard to the 2022 NBER Summer Institute, which
will take place between July 11 and July 29.  The component meetings
will be held in hybrid format, with in-person gatherings as well, in
most cases, as an opportunity for virtual participation.  We have
discovered in the last two years that there is significant demand for
watching NBER gatherings on YouTube, and we plan to continue to support
this broad dissemination of meeting content as we return to in-person
conferences.

The Summer Institute schedule may be found here:

https://www.nber.org/conferences/summer-institute-2022

This year's Martin Feldstein Lecture will be delivered on Friday, July
15, by Gita Gopinath, the First Deputy Managing Director of the
International Monetary Fund and the former co-director of the NBER's
International Finance and Macroeconomics program.  The Methods Lectures,
on Thursday, July 28, will address "Empirical Bayes Methods: Theory and
Application."  Jiaying Gu of the University of Toronto and Christopher
Walters of the University of California, Berkeley will be the presenter.

The Summer Institute call for papers may be found here:

https://www.nber.org/calls-papers-and-proposals/call-papers-45th-annual-nber-summer-institute

You may also receive calls for papers by email for specific meetings.
The submission deadline for all meetings is *Wednesday, March 23, at
11:59pm ET*.

I look forward to working with our organizer teams to make this
year's Summer Institute a great success.  All best wishes for the spring
semester - I hope to see you in July.
