Dear all,

I am sorry to be sending the sad news that Professor Fogel passed away early this morning. The message I received from his son Michael is attached. Please don't hesitate to contact me if I can be of help in any way.

It is with great sorrow that I inform you that Professor Robert William Fogel passed away early Tuesday morning. While undergoing rehabilitation for the mild heart he experienced about three weeks ago, he contracted acute pneumonia leading to his death.

Prof. Fogel is survived by his two sons, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Prof. Fogel will be buried in a private ceremony for his immediate family and close friends shortly. A memorial service in his honor for members of the CPE and wider university community will be held on the UofC campus in mid to late July. We will let you know the date, time, and location as soon as this information is available.

Please make a donation in his name to Equip For Equality, a non-for-profit organization that advocates for the rights of the disabled, in lieu of flowers.
