We are looking for new PhDs who might be interested in a one year
faculty position at the University of California, Santa Barbara. We are
looking for outstanding scholars who can contribute to our research and
teaching programs. These positions would carry teaching and research
expectations the same as tenure track assistant professors (teaching is
100 contact hours per year). Pay will be good, though not quite as
good as a tenure-track position.

The Department of Economics invites applications for one or more
temporary one-year faculty positions (visiting assistant and/or
lecturer), to begin July 1, 2011.Applicants may be in any field but
priority will be given to candidates in one of the areas of departmental
strength: macro, applied, or behavioral theory.Applicants are expected
to have a Ph.D. in Economics by August 15, 2011.Applicants will be
expected to teach a standard teaching load, conduct research and
participate in the Department research and teaching programs. The
positions are open until filled, though consideration of applications
will begin April 30, 2011.**The department is especially interested in
candidates who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the
