Dear NBER Researchers and Staff -
I am sorry to report that NBER Research Associate Alan Stockman of
the University of Rochester passed away on Thursday after a long battle
with cancer. Alan received his Ph.D. from the University of Chicago and
was a long-time and active participant in two NBER programs,
International Finance and Macroeconomics and Economic Fluctuations and
Growth. We will all miss his contributions. A memorial statement and
