Doctoral and Post-doctoral fellowships for the study of incentives and rewards

FELLOWSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Beyster Fellows Program invites applications for the J. Robert Beyster Fellowships and Related Fellowships. Each of these fellowships will be awarded for the 2010-2011 academic year to outstanding PhD candidates or Post-Doctoral scholars in the areas of economics, economic or business history, labor studies and employment relations, management and business, public policy, and related social science disciplines studying employee ownership and related ideas such as profit sharing and broad-based stock options in the corporation and society in the United States. The Fellows may be supported at their home institution or may be in residence at Rutgers University. The fellowship would permit the student to associate with several scholars engaged in this area of research and receive mentoring and support. The Beyster Fellowship stipend is in the amount of $25,000.

The Beyster Visiting Professorship and Fellowship will support a scholar currently holding a faculty position.

The Beyster Post-Doctoral Fellowship will support pre-tenure scholars and recent Ph.D. graduates.

Two Beyster Graduate Fellowships will support Ph.D. students who are initiating or completing a thesis.

Four additional Post-Doctoral and Graduate Fellowships will support young scholars before tenure or Ph.D. students who are initiating or completing a thesis. These fellowships are in the amount of $12,500.

Two Smiley Fellowships will support research by a pre-doctoral or post-doctoral scholar in the area of economic or business history. The amount is $5,000.

Further information and how to apply

The Fellows may be supported at their home institution or may be in residence at Rutgers University with the period and length of residency varying between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011. The fellowships can be used for research, travel, or living expenses. The Beyster Fellowships are supported by the Foundation for Enterprise Development and the related fellowships are supported by the Employee Ownership Foundation.
