From: Matthew D. Shapiro <shapiro_at_umich.edu>
Date: Tue, 6 Oct 2009 11:25:03 -0400 (EDT)

Dear Colleagues:

The Committee on Economic Statistics of the American Economic Association
will sponsor three sessions at the January 2011 AEA meetings to be held in
Denver CO and seeks proposals either for individual research papers or for
sessions of three to four papers on economic measurement topics. Any
proposal for a paper or session on a topic related to the measurement of
economic activity is welcome.

The Committee is particularly interested in receiving submissions related
to the statistical issues arising from the financial crisis and potential
changes in financial regulations, markets, and institutions.

One of the three sessions organized by the Committee will be published in
the AER Papers and Proceedings volume. Abstracts for individual papers or
for the papers to be included in a proposed session should be submitted no
later than December 15, 2009 to Matthew D. Shapiro, Chair of the AEA
Committee on Economic Statistics, at aea-stat_at_umich.edu.
