NYCRDC Executive Director part-time position open

The New York Census Research Data Center (NYCRDC) Consortium seeks
applicants for the position of Executive Director of the NYCRDC, located at
Baruch College, starting on September 1st, 2008. This is a part-time
position, suitable for someone with an academic or research appointment at a
New York area institution. The Executive Director appointment is reviewed
every year by the NYCRDC Executive Committee and typically has a term of
three years.

The Executive Director of the NYCRDC is responsible for overseeing the
operations of the NYCRDC (Baruch) and promoting the research mission and
financial health of the NYCRDC, coordinating and informing its governance
activities, publicizing its activities, and representing it in external
venues and to the Census Bureau. The Executive Director works with the
Center's Administrator and other staff.

The part-time Executive Director position is designed to be performed by a
full-time faculty member or other full-time academic staff member who is
eligible for summer salary support or sponsored research salary
reimbursement. Specific time commitments and payments can be customized to
accommodate the requirements of the Executive Director's primary employer.

Members of the NYCRDC Consortium include The City University of New York
(CUNY), Columbia University, Cornell University, the Federal Reserve Bank of
New York, Fordham University, the National Bureau of Economic Research, New
York University, Princeton University, the Russell Sage Foundation, Rutgers
University, SUNY Albany, SUNY Stony Brook, and Yale University, as well as
other entities.

--PhD in Economics, Political Science, Sociology, Demography, or related
fields

--Research experience

--Experience with confidential or restricted access micro-data

--Project management experience

--Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills

--Ability to work with people in different organizations
