Greetings,

This is a call for papers for the next meeting of the World Bank's
Microeconomics of Growth Network. This meeting is being co-organized with
the Fundacao Getulio Vargas and will take place in Rio de Janeiro on
December 13 and 14. The first day of the conference will be focused on
growth in Brazil, with presentations by Jose Scheinkman (informality),
poverty and inequality (Ricardo Paes de Barros), education (Jim Heckman and
Flavio Cunha), and infrastructure (Pedro Ferreira). We are looking for
papers for the second day of the conference, and are interested in papers
that speak broadly to the microeconomics of growth (broadly defined)
anywhere in the world. I am attaching copies of the program in our previous
meetings in developing countries. If you have a paper that you would like
to present, please email them by October 19 to Robin Burgess (
r.burgess_at_lse.ac.uk), Mary Hallward-Driemier (mhallward_at_worldbank.org), and
myself (chsieh_at_econ.berkeley.edu). We will cover expenses and economy
airfare.

Thank you.
