Dear Colleagues:

The cabinet office of the Japanese Government is undertaking a
massive research project to study the "The Japanese Economy and
Macroeconomic Policies over Last Twenty-Five Years". They will pay
a lump sum of 3.86 million yen ($31,000 at current exchange rates)
for papers that are published in an English language book. The
details, including the short form to be used for proposals, are given
in the attached memo. We encourage you to propose a paper and to
forward the call for proposals to others you know that might be interested.

Koichi Hamada, Anil Kashyap, and David Weinstein
