Dear EFG, IFM, and ME Program Members -

Jonathan Parker, the Robert C. Merton Professor of Finance at the
MIT Sloan School, has served with great distinction as one of the
co-organizers of the NBER's Annual Conference on Macroeconomics (the
"Macro Annual") since 2012.  Along with co-organizer Martin Eichenbaum,
he has brought energy and creativity to this important franchise.
Jonathan recently told me that he would like to step down from his
organizing role after the 2019 conference; I know that I speak for our
whole community in thanking him for his contributions.

I am delighted to announce that Erik Hurst, the V. Duane Rath
Professor of Economics at the Chicago Booth School of Business, and the
Deputy Director of the Becker Friedman Institute, has agreed to join the
Macro Annual's organizing team.  Erik is a wide-ranging researcher whose
work has touched on labor markets, household finance, and household
financial behavior.  Please join me in welcoming him to this new position.

Erik, Jonathan, and Marty will all serve as co-organizers of the
2019 Macro Annual conference; after that, Erik and Marty will be the
co-organizers.

I hope to see many of you at Summer Institute.  All best wishes.

Jim Poterba
