FW: NBER's Environmental and Energy Economics (EEE) Program Meeting - call for papers

Dear EEE members.
In response to my email of yesterday, many asked for a few extra days. Just to be even-handed about it, let's extend the deadline for everybody, from Jan.4 to "Friday the 13th." The deadline is relatively early this year because the spring meeting is a bit earlier (March 9-10, instead of April). Please make your flights to attend march 9-10 (and SI, July 23-24).
BTW, you can check this and all future meetings at: https://www.nber.org/~confer/ . This website is for RA and FRF's only, not readily available from the main page unless you are logged in. So bookmark it to your favorites and check regularly.
Also, in a few weeks Jim Poterba will request nominations for new FRF's and RA's. Please send suggestions both to him and to me. BTW, we started EEE with several high-level senior appointments, but it has gradually become harder to appoint new RA's from outside. The intent is to grow new FRF's from within the culture of NBER, where everybody is committed to participation -- via working papers, conferences, meetings, and projects. Thanks, Don

Dear EEE members:

Many of you may ignore official-looking emails from NBER like the one below! This one invites submissions to the EEE meeting of March 9-10, 2012, in Cambridge. With few submissions to compete, now is a good chance to get on the program. Please upload your paper to the website below, before you fly to Chicago! Thanks, Don

RE: Call for papers

I would like to invite you to participate in the NBER's Environmental and Energy Economics (EEE) Program Meeting. We will have a joint meeting with Health Care (HC) on Thursday-Saturday, March 8-10 at the NBER in Cambridge MA. The HC Program will meet on Thursday and
Friday. Friday afternoon we will have joint HC and EEE papers (about three, plus or minus, depending on the quality of submissions). Then Saturday March 10, the EEE group will continue with about 4 papers that are not necessarily of interest to the health care folks.

All members of both HC and EEE will be invited to both meetings, so you can come Wednesday evening if you are interested to attend the health papers. I certainly hope you will attend at least the EEE portions, starting Friday at lunch and continuing through Saturday lunch (March 9-10).

The EEE portions of this meeting will be organized by Nolan Miller and myself (working with Jonathan Gruber on the joint session). The deadline for submissions is January 4, 2012.

Please upload submissions for the joint HC/EEE session here http://www.nber.org/confsubmit/backend/cfp?id=HCEEEcall

Please upload submissions for the EEE session here:

For reasons outlined in earlier emails to EEE members, we urge each of you to use university travel grants or some of your own grant money for costs of travel to this meeting. For RA's and FRF's without other ways to cover travel to this meeting, the NBER will cover the cost of discounted fares, and up to three nights hotel. Invitations and logistical information will be distributed by the end of January.
