Call for Papers: Climate and the Economy

The Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES), at Stockholm University, will host a conference on 'Climate and the Economy' in Stockholm on September 6-8, 2012. The goal of the conference is to discuss current frontier research on the two-way interaction between climate and the socio-economy. The conference is co-organized with the Journal of Political Economy. The JPE aims to publish a special issue with conference proceedings, subject to the usual refereeing procedure and quality standards.
The conference program will encompass up to 12 papers. Submissions are invited and should be sent to Per Krusell at per.krusell_at_iies.su.se. A full paper may, but need not, be submitted: the minimum submission requirement is a one-page abstract. The submission deadline is Oct 1, 2011.
The program committee consists of John Hassler, Per Krusell, Torsten Persson, and David Strömberg (all at the IIES), along with representatives from the JPE. The committee will make a selection of papers to be presented by Oct 31, 2011. There is no detailed target in terms of the subjects covered, but the hope is to have representation of both microeconomic and macroeconomic research, empirical as well as theoretical. Travel, lodging, and meals will be covered by the conference.
For questions, please contact the organizers at the IIES.
