Dear Economics of Education program members,

I write with a couple of pieces of news. First, we have reached a new
high in terms of the number and quality of submissions for a program
meeting! There were a large number of outstanding submissions, and
(sadly) not all of them could be put on the program. They will be
considered again for the spring program meeting. Second, we are
meeting in DC this fall to facilitate attendance by and interaction
with federal education staffers and DC policy/thinktank staff. While
we already have a list of federal invitees, please let me know you
know of someone who should, in your opinion, receive an invitation.
We are especially likely to invite staff from the U.S. Department of
Education, the Institute for Education Sciences, Federal Student Aid,
National Student Loans, the Treasury, etc.

All good wishes,

Caroline Hoxby
