Dear NBER Economics of Education program members,

Please note that the Call for Papers for the upcoming program meeting
(May 11, held in conjunction with the Children's meeting on May 10)
arrived in your inbox this morning. I encourage you to forward this
to interested scholars who may not get it but who would like to submit
a paper for consideration.

We will be welcoming program officers from the Postsecondary Education
division of the Institute for Education Sciences to our May program
meeting, and we plan to discuss issues like grants, IES priorities,
data, and important research opportunities. Therefore, if you have a
higher education paper that you'd like to present soon, please submit
it for this meeting. This does not mean that submissions on K-12
education are not wanted, just that higher education papers will be
given a bit of priority.

Also, I want to remind everyone to send me ideas regarding research
that could be done if we had better data linkages between
administrative data sets in education. Some of you have already sent
me these ideas and they have been relayed to IES, but the more the
better.

Key upcoming dates:
May 10, 11, 2012: NBER Children Program Meeting (10th) and NBER
Economics of Education Program Meeting (11th)
July 25, 2012: Education day at NBER Summer Institute
November 15, 16, 2012: NBER Education Program Meeting in Chicago at
the Federal Reserve Bank, 230 South LaSalle Street, Chicago, Illinois
If you planning travel now, please plan to arrive by 10am on
11/15/2012. The meeting will adjourn at 3:00pm on 11/16/2012

All good wishes,

Caroline Hoxby
