nominate graduate students to attend the Summer Institute

Dear Economics of Education program members,

The NBER is now allowing a small number of students to attend the
Summer Institute. A student must be nominated by a program member and
must not be from an institution located in Cambridge, MA. The
student's home institution is responsible for travel and hotel
expenses, but the student will be invited to participate in meals and
other activities at the conference.

I encourage you to send me a nomination if you have a student who
would benefit a lot by attending the Economics of Education portion of
Summer Institute. Space is limited, so this privilege is probably
best extended to students who are working on topics closely related to
the program and/or who are fairly close to the job market. If the
student has a c.v. to send along with your nomination, that's fine.
However, what I am really looking for is a paragraph on what the
student is working on, where he/she is in your program, and what you
expect that the student would get out of attending Summer Institute.

All good wishes,

Caroline Hoxby
