NBER: sad news
We are writing with the sad news that Werner Troesken passed away on
September 14th. Werner was a devoted and generous member of the DAE group
for many years and a dear friend and colleague of many of us. We will
deeply miss his thoughtful presence.
We would like to share some words from Randy Walsh, Werner's long time
colleague at the University of Pittsburgh:
*Beloved father, husband, partner, brother, and son. Widely loved by
family, friends, and colleagues. A professor at the University of
Pittsburgh, he was a prolific and distinguished scholar who impacted many
with his teaching and writing. He was an avid sportsman with many talents,
including painting, woodworking, and music. He lived his life with humor
and passion, and will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.*
