DAE Spring Program Meeting

To All DAE Family Members:

Greetings.

The DAE Spring Program Meeting is scheduled for Saturday March 5, 2011 and
the final program must be set by the end of January. To accomplish that, I
am asking you to respond to two items.

First, please let me know if you have a paper that you would like to
present (or if you think an overly modest and reticent member of our group
should be asked). Second, tell me if you have an idea about a topical
economics issue with economic history content (all have some) that would
make for a good set of presentations. Last year we had superb sessions on
mortgage, finance, and housing economic history. Although we generally do
not have a theme for the Program Meeting, I am open to (concrete)
suggestions for one or two of the sessions. The possibilities for
important issues discussed during the past year include health care reform,
state versus federal regulations, for-profit colleges, and, probably the
most significant, long-term high unemployment. But there are many more.

Please send me suggestions for papers and/or themes as soon as possible,
and by January 21, 2011 at the latest.

Best regards,

Claudia
