Dear DAE Colleagues,

Several years ago we presented at the DAE Summer Institute a paper outlining
our estimates of international exports from the states and colonies of the
Middle Atlantic region in the years before 1800. This paper subsequently
appeared the Bureau¹s working paper series (wp #14334). Based on feedback
on the original paper we have adopted a different estimating procedure and
arrived at rather different results. Recently we replaced the original
working paper with a significantly revised one and added an appendix
providing details of our estimation process and reporting our annual export
series for the years 1720-1800. Because revised papers are not announced
with new papers we write to call your attention to our revised paper and the
accompanying appendix, both of which you can view at:
http://www.nber.org/papers/w14334.

Regards,

Joshua Rosenbloom
