RE: Summer Institute 2009 Call for Papers

It is that time of year when we start planning for the NBER Summer
Institute. The Development of the American Economy workshop will take
place from July 6-9, 2009 at the NBER's office, 1050 Massachusetts Avenue
in Cambridge. MA.

Leah Boustan, Naomi Lamoreaux and Paul Rhode will be organizing this year's
workshop. As always, we would like to have a range of topics covered. If
you have a paper that you would like to present, please send an abstract to
the organizers by MARCH 20, 2009. Electronic submissions, copied to each
organizer, are preferred. You should also feel free to suggest interesting
papers by those outside the DAE program, especially those by junior
colleagues who might benefit from exposure to the NBER (and vice
versa). Invitations and logistical information will be sent out in late
April.

Please send submissions to:

Professor Leah Boustan
E-Mail: lboustan_at_econ.ucla.edu,

Professor Naomi Lamoreaux
E-Mail: lamoreaux_at_econ.ucla.edu

Professor Paul Rhode
E-Mail: pwrhode_at_email.arizona.edu

If you have questions regarding other aspects of the Summer Institute,
please contact Rob Shannon in the NBER's Conference Department,
617/868-3900 or rshannon_at_nber.org

We look forward to seeing you all in Cambridge.
