RE: Summer Institute 2004 Call for Papers

It is that time of year when we start planning for the NBER Summer
Institute. The Development of the American Economy workshop will take
place from July 26-29, 2004 at the NBER's office, 1050 Massachusetts Avenue
in Cambridge. MA.

Lee Alston and Larry Neal will be organizing this year's workshop. As
always, we would like to have a range of topics covered. If you have a
paper that you would like to present, please send an abstract to the
organizers by MARCH 15, 2004. Logistical information will be sent out in
late April. Electronic submissions, copied to both organizers, are
preferred, but of course paper copies are acceptable if necessary. You
should also feel free to suggest interesting papers by those outside the
DAE program, especially those by junior colleagues who might benefit from
exposure to the NBER (and vice versa).

Please send electronic submissions to:

Lee.Alston@colorado.edu
lneal@uiuc.edu

The organizers can also be reached via U.S. Mail at:
