Dear Colleagues,

You may be interested to know that the CDC is proposing a redesign of the
NHIS. See

http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/nhis/2018_quest_redesign.htm

Some of the more controversial aspects of the redesign involve eliminating
most household or family-level information from the survey including
income, poverty status, demographic information, public assistance
receipt. They are only going to collect information on a random sampled
adult and a random sample child in the household.
The comment period extends through March 15, 2016. To provide comments,
please send an email to healthsurveys_at_cdc.gov
<healthsurveys_at_cdc.gov?subject=Redesign>.

Best wishes
Janet
