Dear Children's Program members -

Three items:

1. The NSF has 2 important deadlines coming up. July 18th is the
deadline for NSF Career Grants (which is earlier than for the regular
grants - see below). These are 5 year awards that are only
available to untenured researchers. If you are eligible, please consider
submitting through the NBER. I'd be glad to talk to you about your
proposal and put you in touch with previous successful NBER Career
winners.

The regular NSF deadline is August 15 for grants through the Economics
Panel. Again, do consider submitting through the NBER. The staff are
incredibly good at helping with the application process and your grant
benefits the economics community. I am very glad to read and discuss
your proposal or put you in touch with a recent NBER NSF grant
recipient who successfully submitted on a similar topic.

2. The Children's program is July 29 at Summer Institute. Mark your
calendars and look for the invitation!

3. If you wish to nominate a graduate student for Summer Institute,
please send me that nomination soon.

Thanks, everyone, for a great program meeting two weeks ago in Cambridge.
I look forward to seeing you this summer.

Janet
