Everyone,

Gary Zarkin, Mike French, and I organized five sessions on the economics of substance use and abuse (including determinants, prevention, treatment, and general issues) at the Second Biennial American Society of Health Economics (ASHEcon) Conference at Duke University in June 2008. I am asking Mike and Gary if they would like to join me in a similar undertaking for the Third Biennial ASHcon) Conference at Cornell University, June 19-23, 2010 I am asking Gary, Mike, and everyone else to submit abstracts to Gary, Mike, and me as soon as possible. I would like to have the sessions organized in time to include them in a conference grant proposal to NIDA that is due on August 12. I apologize for giving you short notice, but I thought the application would not be due until sometime this fall. I just found out today about the earlier deadline. Each session will have a chair, three papers, and three discussants. If you do not think you will have a paper but would like to chair a session or discuss a paper, let me know about that. Generally, discussants are selected form among those who will attend the conference. So if you submit an abstract, I will assume that you also will be willing to serve as a chair and discussant of a session that does not contain your paper.

Best regards,

Mike
