Dear NBER Colleagues -

I hope that you will join me in congratulating Amir Sufi, who was
recently named the 2017 recipient of the American Finance Association's
Fischer Black Prize. The prize honors the person under the age of 40
whose work best exemplifies Fischer Black's practice-relevant research
in finance. Amir's work has ranged widely in both finance and
macroeconomics, examining the role of loan markets in corporate finance
and the impact of mortgage markets on household finance. With Atif
Mian, he has explored the linkages between housing finance and real
activity in the run-up to the Great Recession.

Amir is the Bruce Lindsay Professor of Economics and Public Policy
at Chicago's Booth School of Business and a Research Associate in the
NBER's Corporate Finance, Economic Fluctuations, and Monetary Economics
programs.

     All best wishes.
