On behalf of Pierre Werner Chair Programme on Monetary Union at the Robert
Schuman Centre of the EUI, CEPR is pleased to announce the following:

Fourth Annual Workshop on Global Interdependence
 
Fiesole, European University Institute, Fiesole-Florence
March 6-7, 2008

Organizers: Giancarlo Corsetti (European University Institute, University
of Rome III and CEPR) and Hélène Rey (London Business School and CEPR)

CEPR and the Pierre Werner Chair at the University at EUI are jointly
organizing a one and a half day workshop focusing on global integration and
economic interdependence. Papers are being sought that focus on the
following topics from the perspective of global integration:

· Monetary unions: theory and historical experience;
· Current account and international portfolio dynamics;
· International risk sharing; theory and evidence;
· Financial and currency crisis;
· Commodity markets and the macroeconomy;
· International dimensions of monetary and fiscal policy;
· Vehicle currencies and import pricing.

This is the fourth annual workshop of the CEPR Working Group on
Macroeconomics of Global Interdependence (MGI). MGI aims to encourage
academic research on macroeconomic aspects of global integration (broadly
defined). Further information on MGI can be found at www.cepr.org/mgi.

If you would like to submit a paper proposal, please upload a one-page
abstract or provisional draft with your reply form by visiting
www.cepr.org/YourProfile/Meetings and indicate whether or not you wish to
present a paper or act as a discussant. You will also be asked to specify
your funding requirements. The deadline for replies is 18:00 GMT on 17
October 2008. Limited travel funding is available according to the standard
CEPR travel guidelines
(www.cepr.org/meets/wkcn/misc/CEPR_Travel_Reimbursement_Policy_2008.pdf).

The organizing committee will notify prospective participants by November
15, 2008 of their decision. The organising committee is composed of
Giancarlo Corsetti and Hélène Rey.

If you wish to attend please do ensure that your reply form and paper reach
CEPR by 17 October 2008. We cannot accept submissions received after this
date.
