Dear Economics of Aging program members,

Just a reminder of the upcoming deadline for the June conference in
Lugano – and if you have trouble submitted your paper/abstract at the
last minute on January 15th, don’t worry – you can always send me a copy
on the 16th.

NBER/CEPRA Call for Papers
Aging and Health
Lugano, Switzerland: June 19-20, 2023

The Center for Policy Research on Ageing (CEPRA) at Università della
Svizzera Italiana (USI) and the National Bureau of Economic Research
(NBER) invite papers for a workshop on “Aging and Health” that will be
held in Lugano, Switzerland, on June 19-20, 2023. The workshop will
showcase recent research on the economics of aging, health, and health
care and facilitate networking of both young and senior scientists in
this research field.

Papers for the meeting will be selected by a committee comprised of
Fabrizio Mazzonna (Università della Svizzera Italiana and CEPRA),
Kathleen McGarry (UCLA and NBER), Kosali Simon (Indiana University and
NBER), and Jonathan Skinner (Dartmouth and NBER). The organizers
welcome submissions of both empirical and theoretical research, and
encourage submissions by scholars who are early in their careers, who
are not CEPRA or NBER affiliates, and who are from groups that are
underrepresented in the economics profession. Papers that have been
accepted for publication by June 2023 are not eligible for presentation.

To be considered for inclusion on the program, papers or detailed
abstracts, in PDF format, must be uploaded by midnight (EST, U.S.)
January 15th, 2023 to the following link.

Authors of accepted papers will be notified in early February, 2023.
CEPRA will cover the cost of local accommodations and economy-class
advance-purchase airfare for one author per paper; other authors are
welcome to attend at their own expense. To provide a conducive
environment for the exchange of ideas, the workshop is limited to a
small number of presenters and discussants and participants are expected
to stay for both days of the meeting. Questions may be addressed
