Dear NBER Colleagues:

As you may know, we co-direct a grant for the "NBER Center for Aging and
Health Research," funded by the National Institute on Aging. Among other
activities, the Center funds pilot studies on exploratory topics
relating to health at older ages. The ideal pilot project incubates an
innovative new study area, and leads to a follow-up grant proposal to
NIA, though this is not a necessary condition of support. The only
substantive limitation is that the project relate to health outcomes at
older ages.

We are soliciting ideas for up to a dozen pilot projects for the next
two years of the Center (July 2019-June 2021), and we welcome your
submissions. If you have a project idea, please upload a title and one
or two paragraph summary by Monday, March 11. Projects generally provide
one or two months of summer support, research assistance, or other
expenses, such as experimental interventions or data acquisitions. We
look forward to reading your project ideas.

Submissions may be uploaded at:

Sincerely,

Anne Case and David Cutler
