T&S
Dear all,
ESRC has launched its
Secondary Data Analysis initiative. The normal ESRC policy
applies: non-UK Co-Is are allowed, and may receive up to 30% of the cost
of the grant (disbursed via the UK PI).
The aim is to deliver high impact research relevant to policy-makers and
practitioners, through deeper exploitation of the major data resources
created by the ESRC and other agencies. The call is for small scale
projects of up to £200,000 (at full economic cost). The initiative will
be commissioned in a number of phases and this first phase will involve
funding around 20 projects. Proposals are welcome in any area of social
and economic research which can generate policy and practitioner impact,
but there are significant opportunities to address
ESRCs strategic priorities.
RCUK US is supporting this with
funds for T&S for UK-US teams to develop proposals. Its an
extremely short turnaround: although he deadline for the call itself is
not until 19th April, expressions of interest for travel
should be submitted by 16.00 on 14 February 2012 at the latest and
all trips must be completed by 31 March 2012.. However,
its a very light-touch process: applicants only need to submit two sides
of A4. Also, expressions of interest can be submitted for travel
already booked, as long as the other requirements are met.
Best wishes,
Ruth
