Dear Research Colleagues,
This summer, the NBER will welcome outstanding graduate students and
recent graduates to the Summer Institute on a space-available basis. I
am writing to ask you to nominate students who are completing their
Ph.Ds. this year, or who are expected to be on the job market next
year. I expect that the number of nominees will significantly exceed
the number of spaces available. Invitees will be selected at random from
the pool of nominees, subject to meeting room capacity and other
logistical constraints.

and enter your student's contact information and one or two meetings
that they would be interested in attending. Please do not send
nominations directly to Rob Shannon or to program directors. The
nomination deadline is Monday, May 8 at 11:59pm ET; invitations will be
extended in early June. I regret that NBER cannot cover travel costs
for student participants. If you have difficulties with this system,
please email Rob at rshannon_at_nber.org.
Please refrain from encouraging students who have not been formally
invited from attending this summer's meetings. Most of the
presentations will be available for viewing on the NBER's YouTube channel.
Thank you for your help in making the Summer Institute an exciting and
