Dear Research Colleagues -

Each year, the first issue of the /NBER Reporter/ includes a
compendium of awards received by NBER affiliates in the previous year.
If you received an honor during 2021 and you would like us to include
it, please send a description of no more than 25 words to Charlie Radin
(caradin_at_nber.org), our Director of Public Information, by *Tuesday,
February 22. *Please include "2021 Awards" in the subject line.  If you
shared this award with other researchers, as often happens with "best
paper" prizes and other honors, please include the names of your
co-recipients.  To keep the list manageable, I am afraid that we cannot
include honors such as named chairs, teaching prizes, and other
recognitions that are bestowed by our affiliates' home institutions.

Please let me also remind you that the deadline for nominating
potential new NBER affiliates is *Monday, February 7* at 11:59pm EST.
You should have received an email from Denis Healy at NBER on January 18
with the subject line "NBER Nominations for 2022."  That email provides
detailed directions on how to submit nominations along with your
personalized link to the submission portal.  Identifying promising new
research affiliates is one of our most important tasks.  Please be
particularly attentive to nominating researchers from under-represented
groups as well as those who may not be well-connected to the NBER network.

Thank you very much for your engagement in NBER activities, and all
best wishes.

Jim Poterba
