Dear NBER Colleagues -

Last Thursday, as part of the International Finance and
Macroeconomics Program Summer Institute, we convened a panel discussion
on the Greek financial crisis. The five panelists --- Richard Portes,
Carmen Reinhart, Gita Gopinath, Paolo Pesenti, and Anil Kashyap ---
described the factors that led to the current situation, the economic
consequences of various policy actions, and the political economy
challenge of finding a resolution. They even managed to discuss the
crisis without making policy recommendations, in NBER style!

The presentations were recorded, and the panel discussion is now
posted on the NBER home page:

http://nber.org/

We have also posted a set of Greece- and Euro-related working papers on
page that we mention in the video announcement. I thought that you
might find this panel discussion of interest.

This video posting is part of our evolving effort to bring NBER
research and NBER activities to greater attention both inside and
outside the academic community. You might also be interested in the
presentations that took place at the NBER Macro Annual Conference last
April. We have posted videos of those presentations, as well as short
interviews in which the authors describe their key findings, at:

http://www.nber.org/macroannualconference/macroannual_2015.html

I am very grateful to Charlie Radin, the NBER's Director of Public
Information, for his assistant in bringing both of these meetings to
wider visibility. I would welcome your feedback on these postings. All
best wishes.
