Visiting Fellows Program in Disability Insurance Research

The National Bureau of Economic Research seeks applications to its
Visiting Fellows Program in Disability Insurance Research for the
2013-2014 academic year.

These post-doctoral fellowships provide support for one year of
intensive research on disability insurance and policy issues at NBER’s
office in Cambridge and are targeted toward economists who are at an
early stage in their research careers or who wish to focus more
intensively on these topics. PhD students receiving their degrees
this year are also encouraged to apply.

Applications are due on or before December 28, 2012.

NBER encourages applications from individuals from under-represented
racial and ethnic groups; individuals with disabilities; and/or
individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Visiting Fellows Program in Disability Insurance Research

NBER’s Fellowship Program in Disability Insurance Research, under the
direction of Professor David A. Wise, supports promising economists at
an early stage in their research careers. Fellows visit our Cambridge
office for one year of intensive research in the areas of aging and
health and are free of all teaching and other university
responsibilities.

Fellows receive a yearly stipend of $60,000 - $74,000 (depending on
years of experience and available funds) as well as office space, use
of computer facilities at the Bureau’s Cambridge office, and funds for
research expenses.

Eligibility

Applications are being accepted for the 2013-2014*. Applicants must
have completed a PhD before they begin the program, and must be US
Citizens or lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time the
fellowship begins.
