Call for Papers, NBER China Conference
Cambridge, MA, September 25-26, 2009

TO: Potential Authors
FROM: Shang-Jin Wei
Subject: NBER China Conference, Cambridge, MA, September 25-26, 2009
DATE: February 3, 2009

The National Bureau of Economic Research workshop on the Chinese
economy is a venue to discuss new and interesting China-related
research, broadly defined. The next meeting will be held in
Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 25-26, 2009.

We welcome papers from a variety of fields. Participants in past
meetings included both China specialists and members from various
NBER programs, such as Corporate Finance, Public Economics, Labor,
Asset Pricing, International Trade and Investment, and International
Finance and Macroeconomics. A copy of last year's program can be
found at http://www.nber.org/confer/2008/cwgf08/program.html.

The conference does not publish proceedings or issue NBER working
papers - most of the presented papers are presumed to be published
later in journals.

If you are interested in presenting a paper this year, please email a
PDF or Word version to me at swei.nber.1_at_gmail.com by June 6, 2009.
If you have come across an interesting paper that you think is
appropriate for the conference, please let me know or encourage the
authors to submit it to the conference. Please indicate in the
subject line "NBER China Conference in Cambridge." Preferences will
be given to empirically oriented papers for which at least a
preliminary draft is ready by the time of submission. Only authors of
accepted papers will be contacted.

The NBER will cover travel and hotel costs for participants from
North America. While it is unable to cover travel costs for those
from outside North America, it may provide three nights of hotel.
