Dear Colleagues:

The Einaudi Institute for Economics and Finance
(<file:///blocked::http://www.eief.it/>www.eief.it), that was
launched last year with the aim of producing world-class
research with an emphasis on policy relevant topics, will be
interviewing at the upcoming ASSA meetings in San Francisco. Last
year EIEF successfully hired three new assistant professors from
Berkeley, Minnesota and Northwestern in the fields of Monetary
Economics, Macroeconomic and Finance and Applied Micro.

This year they are opening 4 new positions (their ad on JOE is here:
http://www.aeaweb.org/joe/current/joe_full_adv.php?adnum=20081111001&position=2922&employer=1043&issue=200811
). We encourage you to have your students on the job market to apply.
EIEF is offering competitive salaries, with excellent facilities and
very light teaching loads.

Our primary purpose in writing, however, is to make sure that you are
personally aware of the visiting program for established
scholars. You can see a partial list of who has already signed up at
<file:///blocked::http://www.eief.it/people/visitors/>http://www.eief.it/people/visitors/.
They have the capacity to host many more people, and we encourage you
to apply to visit. They have a preference for people who can commit
for a long stay and whose work is aligned with the mission of the
Institute; for the upcoming year, they are especially interested in
getting more Finance faculty to visit. If you have a sabbatical
coming up, they are willing to discuss forward contracts and they can
provide some supplemental research and salary support for long-stay visitors.

Please contact the Director of the Insitute, Daniele Terlizzese, if
you have further questions: daniele.terlizzese_at_eief.it

Sincerely,

Olivier Blanchard and Anil Kashyap
