Visiting Fellows Program in Aging Research

The National Bureau of Economic Research seeks applications to its Visiting Fellows Program in Aging Research for the 2008-2009 academic year.

These post-doctoral fellowships provide support for a year of intensive research on aging and health issues at the NBER’s office in Cambridge and are targeted toward economists who are at an early stage in their research careers or who wish to focus more intensively on topics in aging and health. PhD students receiving their degrees this year are also encouraged to apply. Applications are due on or before December 14, 2007.

Visiting Fellows Program in Aging Research

Fellowships for 2008-2009

NBER offers support for outstanding economists to visit our Cambridge office for a year of intensive research in the areas of aging and health. Visiting fellows are free of all teaching and other university responsibilities.

NBER’s Fellowship Program in Aging Research, under the direction of Professor David A. Wise, supports promising economists at an early stage in their research careers. Fellows develop their research expertise in the Economics of Aging and Health in an environment of prominent senior scholars and leaders in the field.

Fellows receive a yearly stipend of $60,000 - $70,000 (depending on years of experience and available funds) as well as office space, use of computer facilities at the Bureau’s Cambridge office, and funds for research expenses.

Eligibility

Applications are being accepted for the 2008-2009* academic year. Applicants must have completed a PhD before they begin the program, and must be US Citizens or lawfully admitted for permanent residence at the time the fellowship begins.

Deadline: December 14, 2007
