Dear Colleagues:

The Bank of Italy has just launched the Einaudi Institute of
Economics and Finance (EIEF), www.eief.it. Based in Rome, EIEF will
produce world-class research, with an emphasis on policy-relevant
topics. It will also seek to influence public thinking and to train
the next generation of scholars by running high-quality seminar
series, graduate level courses and conferences.

The EIEF will be interviewing at the upcoming ASSA meetings and we
encourage you to have
your students on the job market apply: there are 4 positions, with
competitive salaries, excellent facilities and light teaching
loads. Applicants should follow the instructions on EIEF's web page.

Visiting professor and post doctoral positions are also available for
the academic year 2008/2009. You can see a partial list of who is
already signed up at http://www.eief.it/people/visitors/. The
Institute has the capacity to host many more people, and we encourage
you to apply to visit. There is a preference for people who can
commit to a long stay and whose work is aligned with the mission of
the Institute; for the upcoming year, EIEF is particularly interested
in getting visitors in the area of finance.

Please contact the Director of the Insitute, Daniele Terlizzese if
you have further questions:
