Comparative Analysis of Enterprise (Micro) Data 2008
May 22-24, 2008
Central European University, Budapest

Call for Papers

CAED invites submissions of extended abstracts and session proposals
for its 8th international conference on research using enterprise micro
data. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to, reallocation,
productivity, ICT, innovation and R&D, competition, transition,
development, labor, adjustment costs, environment, corporate governance,
trade, and linked employer-employee analysis. The conference is
organized by the Upjohn Institute for Employment Research and the
Central European University, with co-sponsorship from the Hungarian
National Bank, U.S. Census Bureau, IAB, NORC, Hungarian Competition
Authority, and OECD.

Paper abstracts should be 400-600 words, including a description of the
data used in the analysis. Session proposals should be short summaries
of the topic, data, and authors. Submission indicates that the presenter
of an accepted paper will be willing to serve as a discussant. To
promote the comparative agenda of CAED, preference will be given to
papers using data from multiple countries and to proposals for sessions
that contain papers on the same topic in different countries. The
deadline is December 15, 2007.

The conference will be held at the Central European University
(www.ceu.hu) in downtown Budapest. It will begin on Thursday evening,
May 22, with a reception and a panel on "The Future of CAED." The
program on Friday and Saturday (May 23-24) will include keynote speeches
by Tim Bresnahan and Bill Megginson, a plenary panel on "Getting
Access to Business Micro Data: New Approaches," and parallel and
poster sessions. The conference will conclude with a Danube River
dinner cruise on Saturday evening. The registration fee of €150 (except
for members of sponsoring organizations) which is due by April 1, or
€250 thereafter, covers all materials, the opening reception,
lunches, and Danube dinner cruise. Financial assistance may be
available for graduate students and junior researchers. Please write
CAED_at_upjohn.org when submitting if you would like to apply for
support.
