Dear Staff Colleagues -
It has been more than a year since our last survey on
work-from-home practices and preferences about remote, hybrid, and
in-office work. With fingers crossed that we are moving to a
post-pandemic environment relatively soon, I am writing once again to
ask about the effectiveness of your current remote work set-up, your
desired level of in-office work as we emerge from the pandemic, and what
if anything you would need to support a hybrid work schedule that
involved some time spent in the office. I would be very grateful if you

One important innovation is that this survey asks which NBER department
you work in -- this information is important since there may be
differences across departments in preferences regarding in-office vs.
remote work.
