Hi All:
One of the links to our Internet Service Provider became flaky beginning
around 10:00am (give or take 15 mins). Since it was flaky things would
work intermittently.
Many of you had problems connecting to your Desktop at NBER (or the server
to which you tunneled to connect via RDC). All of this is related to the
ISP link problem.
We have opened a ticket with the ISP. We have disconnected our link to
this ISP for the time being and all internet traffic is going via our
other "good" link. So at the moment every thing should be working. The
internet "pipe" is large enough on the good link that we do not expect any
slowdown either.
When the ISP comes back to troubleshoot and fix this problem, we will be
reconnecting the link. However this could mean there may be another
disruption. We don't yet know when that will happen but we wanted to give
you a heads up. We will try to inform you before we let the ISP
troubleshoot the problem.
