Dear Staff, Researchers, and Research Assistants:
The building is scheduled to have a fire evacuation drill on Thursday,
November 17, at 10 AM.
*When the fire alarm sounds, please follow the exit signs and leave the
building immediately, by using one of the two stairwells. *
*Make sure others in your area leave, too.*
* Do not use the elevators. *
*Once you are outside, please go to our designated meeting place, which is
across the street at 1045 Massachusetts Ave., in front of the Design Within
Reach building.*
If anyone has a mobility issue, please bring it to my attention so we can
make the appropriate arrangements.
Also, if you ride your bike, please make sure it is not blocking the
hallway or doors.
In the event of a fire, red fire alarm pull boxes are located on each
floor, by the back doors, leading to the stairs. Pulling this open will set
off the alarms and will notify the fire dept.
*LOCATION OF FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:*
*2nd floor:* In the kitchen and by both side access doors.
*3rd floor*: In the kitchen, the mail room, outside the 3rd floor
conference room (under the wall-mounted phone), outside office #300, inside
the President’s area, and by the side access door (near the conference
dept.).
*4th floor: * By the scanner (to the left of the glass sliding doors) and
in the accounting dept.
