Roger Clemmons Subject: NBER-RPI Scientific Papers Database Dear Dan: We are sending by DHL Overnight the NBER-Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Scientific Papers Database. Included as well are a cover letter and a 57 page guide to the data, which should "go with" the data, as we discussed. For now I want to limit distribution to NBER, while we see how this goes. Perhaps an announcement is in order, especially for Productivity, where there are some people may have an interest in these data. The data come on two CDs: One includes the guide in Word and also a distilled version in Adobe Acrobat V.5, as you requested. Also on this CD are a compressed directory in SAS V. 9.1 for Windows, and a second directory in SAS Transport format, type XPT, both of which hold the database. The second disk contains the database in two more directories: one in ASCII-comma delimited format and the other in STATA V. 8 format. Thus, I believe that I have put the data in all the different formats that you requested. All this is to make the data transfer more convenient and less time consuming for you.
